Eytan Sugarman

Eytan Sugarman brings entrepreneurial instinct, immeasurable drive and considerable
hospitality and business experience to Southern Hospitality. Eytan's reputation
as a hands on businessman precedes him whenever he opens a restaurant. Eytan
has been featured several times in the New York Post, New York Magazine, People
Magazine, In Style Magazine, Anything Hollywood.com, MTV and The New York Times
A native New Yorker, Sugarman's first entrepreneurial venture was in 1999
where he launched restaurant and nightclub One 51 in New York City's midtown
restaurant region. One 51 quickly became one of the most popular lounges in
New York hosting several music industry parties as well as other functions
such as The Bacardi Silver launch Party, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta
Jones Birthday Bash, and the 2000 New York Yankees World Series party. In 2000
Eytan hosted The Real Millennium New Year's Eve Jam, on Jan 31st live from
the Roseland Ballroom in New York, this event was featured live on MTV during
their New Years countdown show.
Eytan continued to search out new spaces, designers and a team to bring
New York an ultra exclusive nightclub. In 2002, Sugarman partnered with music
producer Timbaland and established Suede nightclub in New York's Chelsea district.
Suede was an exquisitely-designed 2-floor lounge which became known for its
decor, its ambiance and its reputation as being the choice for countless celebrities,
models and New York's social elite. Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Pamela Anderson
and Leonardo DiCaprio have all dropped by Suede. Suede has been praised by
the media and customers alike as one of New York's hottest nightclubs in nightlife
history, before closing their doors in 2006.
In 2005 Eytan along with business partners Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala
opened up Destino, a Southern Italian restaurant combining delicious food,
service and ambiance with the warmth, charm and comfort of a neighborhood cafe.
On any given night the dining room at Destino swells with a mix of celebrities,
business executives and neighborhood regulars all enjoying the superb food
and drink that Destino has become known for.
Following the success of Destino Eytan, Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala
wanted to bring another dining experience to New York City. In July 2007 they
opened up Southern Hospitality, a Memphis style barbecue restaurant and bar
located in New York's upper east side.
