post World Cup and Shots Around the World!

June 8th, 2010

Filed under: Events at Southern Hospitality — Christina @ 3:44 pm

Today, June 8th, 2010, as I sit here writing this blog, I can’t decide what I’m more excited for…a freshly made Caesar salad with a side order of french fries or the highly anticipated start to the 2010 World Cup…good thing I find myself at Southern Hospitality where I’m offered both delicious food AND a chance to witness all of the World Cup action firsthand! I’ve never been a soccer fan…I’m still not, but ever since I started hanging around Southern Hospitality I’m thinking about taking the plunge and becoming one. Surprisingly, I’ve never watched a professional soccer match, but with all of the excitement and hype around here, how can I resist taking part in the action? To “kick-off” the start of the tournament, Southern Hospitality is hosting a “Shots Around the World Party” on June 10th at 7PM, where guests can not only watch the games on any of our 14 HD TVs, but they can also purchase 6 of our uniquely designed “international” shots for $25! Ranging from German Chocolate Cake shots to American Flag Shots, we have it all! The celebration doesn’t stop there, though…throughout the duration of the World Cup Tournament (June 11- July 11) guests can come to Southern Hospitality to cheer on their favorite teams and purchase $3 Drafts, $6 Well Drinks, and $6 Frozen Drinks. So whether soccer is your passion or you’ve never touched a soccer ball in your life, we hope that you’ll join us at the best World Cup festivities in all of NYC at Southern Hospitality!

I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly ready for some summer-time soccer! Who will you be rooting for?

post Southern Hospitality Introduces New Menu Items

March 4th, 2010

Filed under: New Menu Items @ SH — Stanley @ 5:38 pm

Spring is finally rolling in and we’re rolling out some exciting new Firestarters, Sandwiches, Specialties, and Desserts for our menu.

The Grilled BBQ Quesadillas are the perfect starter, made with our pulled pork or pulled chicken (or shrimp for a little extra), white onions, sour cream, and guacamole.  The Cheese Fries are another great addition—your choice of Tater Tots or French Fries smothered in our homemade cheese sauce.

We’ve also added a Sliced Smoked Prime Rib Sandwich to the list, which sounds almost as mouthwatering as it is—Sliced smoked rib, crispy onions, and jalapenos on a fresh baked hero, dipped in our savory beef stock, and smothered in our cheese sauce.

If that wasn’t enough to excite your taste buds, we’ve added new specialty dishes to our menu as well.  The Grilled Salmon Filet is served with our Chili-Lime Glaze and a Roasted Corn & Tomato Salsa.
The Country-Style Chicken Fried Steak is a classic southern favorite, dredged in our seasoned flour and pan fried in a cast iron skillet, then served with traditional white gravy and mashed potatoes.
Our Smoked Prime Rib is available Thursday through Saturday and is not to be missed—16 ounces of slow-smoked prime rib of beef with crispy onions and our awesome mashed potatoes.

And you’re going to want to save some room for our newest dessert items.  We’ve added the ridiculously delicious Deep-Fried Twinkies, which are served with strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream, as well as individual Red Velvet Cakes, topped with a delectable Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting.

These dishes are bringing a whole new meaning to comfort food.  Come join us at the restaurant for some good food and a little traditional Southern Hospitality.

post Watching the Jets Playoff Games at Southern Hospitality

January 14th, 2010

Filed under: NFL FOOTBALL @ SH, Uncategorized — Stanley @ 5:24 pm

Well it has been a great couple of weeks for Jets Fans here at Southern Hospitality; we witnessed a huge win for the Jets against the unbeaten Colts (yes I know they rested their players….But we still Won). We Witnessed the Jets beat the Cincinnati Bengals in week 17 Thirty Seven to Zero (I don’t Want to hear they rested their players.) We all got together at Southern Hospitality last Saturday Night and rooted for our NY JETS as they put on another brilliant performance.  Southern Was Packed with Fellow Jets Fans and Supporters, I must say everybody was wearing their proud green colors. The crowd definitely loved when the Jets Scored a touchdown or field goal, we made sure to give out those FREE MEAN GREEN SHOTS right away. The Place was going nuts and 5 minutes didn’t go by without somebody including myself starting the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS chants. Overall the game was a huge success, the defense was fierce as always, the running game was on point, and the California kid Mark Sanchez showed us that he can play mistake free football. It’s funny because after this game I think people really started to give the Jets a little bit of credit. After the Jets made the playoffs I went out and bought a huge JETS flag to put right outside, so everybody knows that this is the place to watch the JETS games. Some people told me it was crazy to spend money on the Jets Flag since they were going to lose in the opening round. Well Guess What?? You are all wrong.  So I want to see all my fellow Jets fans at Southern Hospitality on Sunday. Please wear your GREEN proudly as you will be rewarded with a FREE MEAN GREEN SHOTS. Our Entire Staff will be here to welcome you wearing their proud GREEN Jets Shirts. Don’t forget we have some great specials for the game like $10 pitchers of Coors Light, Miller Lite & SoHos Acoustic Amber. $5 wings, nachos, Fried Pickles, & Jalapeno Bottle Caps. FREE MEAN GREEN SHOTS Every time the JETS score.  Here are some pictures from last week and yes it does include some pictures of people dancing and celebrating that great win.
