Monthly Interview with Ariel the Server/Hostess

What is your name?
Ariel, but Stanley calls me Ari Gold.

How Long Have you worked at Southern Hospitality?
Almost 2 years.

Where are you originally from?
Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

How long have you lived in New York City?
5 years

What makes Southern Hospitality so special?
I think what makes it so special is that we have a really close staff members that work hard to make sure we live up to our name. We also have great customers that are always ready to have fun.

What are your goals for the future?
I would love to work in film in the near future. Fingers crossed that we [the restaurant] open up in LA someday.

What’s the most exciting thing you did all week?
Went to a Red Sox game. Yeah, that’s right, I’m a Red Sox fan! [Editor’s Note: Try not to hold it against her].

What is your favorite thing on the Southern Hospitality Menu?
I would have to say our BBQ Sauce. I had to learn all the ingredients for our menu test, so I really appreciate it. If you mean actual food, then I love our new BBQ Quesadilla with Pulled Chicken, it’s our Blue Plate Special on Tuesday nights.

What’s your favorite Southern Hospitality memory?
When Bret Michaels came in to do a photoshoot, I had to pose in the background as a bartender. He was very friendly and down to earth. Bret Michaels YOU ROCK MY WORLD!

We have a great selection of bourbon and whiskeys. We even can host private bourbon classes for people who want to learn more about them. Personally, I like Chimay, we’re one of 15 bars in NYC with Chimay on tap.

What is your name?
Rachael, but on Saturday’s I’m DJ Richie

How Long Have you worked at Southern Hospitality?
It’ll be a year this week actually!

Where are you originally from?
Atlanta, GA

How long have you lived in New York City?
… a year this week.

What makes Southern Hospitality so special?
All of the different personalities here.

What are your goals for the future?
I like to live one day at a time, carpe diem. Plus I just became a DJ, have you heard? It’s on the marquee.

What the most exciting thing you did all week?
DJing on Saturday night. I just started, and I’m saving up for equipment and really cool headphones.

What is your favorite thing on the Southern Hospitality Menu?
BBQ Shrimp Salad, I eat it about 4 times a week. I’m going to go order one now.

What’s your favorite Southern Hospitality memory?
Every memory is my favorite memory, hanging out with my friends at Southern Hospitality. I celebrated my birthday here, and that was kind of awesome.

If someone wanted to bribe you to play their song, what should they use?
A shot of tequila!

And last but not least, what do you recommend from the bar?
The 901derful, because I love tequila!

Two years in July… right from the beginning!

Where are you originally from?

Orange County, NY (the REAL O.C.)

How long have you lived in New York City?

2 ½ years

What makes you a great bartender?

I enjoying working with and meeting new people every day, and like a fast-paced, challenging environment.

What makes Southern Hospitality so special?

The people that work here, our ridiculously good fried chicken, and of course our kick-ass clientele.

What are your goals for the future?

To open a chimpanzee sanctuary, which is basically a retirement home for chimps in biomedical labs.

What the most exciting thing you did all week?

I bought my ticket to Kenya last night, for a one week safari!

What is your favorite thing on the Southern Hospitality Menu?

Fried Chicken with corn on the cob, baked beans and a biscuit.

What’s your favorite Southern Hospitality memory?

Probably our infamous staff Holiday parties, as well as the time I got to talk to Kid Rock while he was in the restaurant.

And last but not least, what do you recommend from the bar?

My signature Kat-Nip shot! Come try it some time.

Where are you originally from?

Long Island, NY

How long have you lived in New York City?

3 Years

What makes you a great server?

Every table has a story and I’m always interested in finding out what it is.

What’s make Southern Hospitality so special?

When I think of Southern Hospitality I think of a family-like atmosphere. I’ve never had such a close group of friends in my life, all working together to make sure everyone who comes here has a great time.

What are your goals for the future?

As much as I’m a goal oriented person, happiness is key for me.  And working here, I can say I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

What the most exciting thing you did all week?

The back-to-back games for the Final Four of March Madness was exciting. It was great to see fans from all over rooting for their teams, and trying to recruit me to cheer with them.

What is your favorite thing on the Southern Hospitality Menu?

The Fried Chicken Platter always puts a smile on my face, and if our chef John puts waffles on my plate I never turn them down.

What’s your favorite Southern Hospitality memory?

I got to host the bikini contest at our Spring Break Party, which was cool. And playing with Pilar the Leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day was pretty fun too!

Since the very beginning, I was one of the original Southern Hospitality servers

Where are you originally from?

I am from Houston Texas and I am true Sothern Girl at heart.

How long have you lived in New York?

4 Years

What makes you a great server?

I always have a smile on my face, I make sure I am always having fun at work and making sure that my customers are enjoying the Southern Hospitality experience.

So rumor has it you just been promoted to head server? Why don’t you share with us what your new duties are?

I making sure that all the waitresses are always having fun, making sure that all the customers are having a great time and I also train new staff members

What’s make Southern Hospitality so special?

The atmosphere, the attitude, the staff, the food, I love this place I am here even on my days off hanging out

What are your goals for the future?

I want to travel the world and collect interesting things while I travel, then eventually open up a small vintage boutique selling all the cool things that I found.

What the most exciting thing you did all week?

Couple of the girls and I decorated the entire restaurant with cool Halloween decorations for our huge Halloween party.

What is your favorite thing on the Southern Hospitality Menu?

I love the pulled Chicken Nachos
